What is basic SEO analysis?
When a page goes live, a search engine first asks: can I crawl this URL, and can I understand it? Basic SEO analysis answers that first question. It checks whether the page is discoverable and readable.
This tool fetches the homepage and reports on-page / technical hygiene: title, description, H1, HTTPS, viewport, canonical, robots, image ALT, robots.txt and sitemap.
What it checks
- Does the page load, and is HTTPS in place?
- Are title and meta description present and reasonably long?
- One clear H1 and a heading hierarchy
- Viewport, canonical, robots meta
- Open Graph, ALT text, language, favicon
- robots.txt and sitemap.xml availability
- Internal / external links and approximate text volume
A solid basic analysis says: the page can be crawled, it has a title, the mobile signal is present, and indexing is not accidentally blocked. That is the foundation.
What basic SEO analysis is not
Not a ranking forecast
85/100 is not a Google position. Competitor authority and search intent are not in this number.
Not backlinks or authority
Who links to you and whether people search your brand sit outside this report.
Not a full-site crawl
Only one URL (homepage / final address) is read. A template bug may repeat thousands of times.
Not Core Web Vitals
Response time in ms is not LCP, INP, or CLS field data.
Not a content-quality grade
Word count does not prove usefulness. Experience and originality are invisible here.
Not a traffic guarantee
The report is a diagnosis. Fixes, content, and time are separate work.
How to read the report
- Red first: noindex, 4xx/5xx, HTTP, missing title.
- Yellow next: long title, multiple H1s, missing ALT, no sitemap.
- Green does not mean done: that check passed, nothing more.
- Log actions, not the score.
Wrong sentence: “Our SEO score is 80, so we will climb.”
| Is | Is not |
|---|---|
| Technical hygiene check | A ranking promise |
| Title, H1, meta review | Keyword research |
| HTTPS, robots, sitemap | A full-site crawl |
| A fast diagnosis list | A CWV / CrUX report |
| A pre-launch checklist | Backlink analysis |
| “Is it readable?” | “Will it rank #1?” |
Summary
Basic SEO analysis looks at the door: can the page be crawled, and are the core tags in place? Site value, field-speed data, and authority are a different layer. Chasing advanced metrics on a broken foundation is like measuring the rooms behind a locked door.
